Mnangagwa and the Lacoste faction

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa who was attacked and lebelled a “troublesome animal” last week by Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Mandi Chimene during an emotive Zanu Pf rally, informed the media during the weekend that he is not part and parcel of the political faction within Zanu Pf known as “Team Lacoste”.
Mnangagwa denied allegations put on him by Chimene that he was the leader of the Team Lacoste Faction that emanated from the 2004 Tsholotsho declaration.
“Ndinoti handizive kuti Lacoste yakabva kupi, ndeyani, inoita nezvei, izvozvo handizvizive ,ndofunga mutauri wazvo ndiye angaziva sezvo mufambi wenzira yeparuware muzivi wayo (I do not know where Lacoste emanated from, who own it or what it does, maybe my fellow colleague knows better about Lacoste)”, he said.
Mnangagwa said that Zanu P.F members should protect the Party’s reputation by not attacking each other on public but should follow amicable procedures to solve disputes within the Party.
Rumors have been circulating that Zanu Pf is dominated by Team Lacoste Faction led by Mnangagwa and G40 Faction led by Grace Mugabe, both Factions with the same ambition of succeeding His Excellence R.G Mugabe.
