Mnangagwa’s wife experiences Zanu PF factional fights
Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s wife, Auxilia, got a first hand experience of Zanu PF factional fights when party members aligned to Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister Mandiitawepi Chimene boycotted the Gweru clean-up event protesting over the presence of the deputy president’s wife.
The cleaning campaign was only attended by war veterans sympathetic to Mnangagwa and Mutsvangwa factions.
The Mutsvangwa executive fully supported Mrs Mnangagwa as they want her husband to take over from Mugabe when he retires.
On the other hand, Chimene’s faction, which has toured most provinces appointing interim executives of the war veterans’ association, is now backing First Lady Grace Mugabe to succeed her husband.
During Saturday’s clean-up campaign, Mutsvangwa’s ally, Virginia Mupasu, was introduced as the provincial war veterans chairperson despite her ouster by Chimene’s faction in August this year.
