Joice Mujuru’s party vowes to grab Bikita west seat

MASVINGO- Former Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti who is now with the Zimbabwe People First party led by former vice president Joyce Mujuru said his party will win the Bikita west by-election even if Zanu Pf orders all serving soldiers to come and vote for it.

Writing on his face book page Bhasikiti who was booted from the ruling party for allegedly supporting Mujuru said his party will taste victory in the forth coming Bikita west by-election.

“Even if Zanu PF empties all army barracks and orderes all serving soldiers to vote for it we will win the election ,”said Bhasikiti.

“We have done our home work and all is set for a resounding victory,”said Bhasikiti who is also former Mwenezi East legislator.

At least six candidates will battle it out in the by-election slated for January 21 next year.

The six were nominated last Friday when the nomination court sat to receive names of prospective candidates.

The Bikita west seat fell vacant following the conviction of Munyaradzi Kereke this year for alegedly raping his 13 year old relative.

The Zimbabwe people first will make its maiden appearance in the election scene and will be represeneted by Kudakwashe Gopo.

Ironically Gopo is a former Zanu PF youth leader who was expelled from the party during the run up to the 2014 Zanu PF congress.

The MDC-T is not participating in the polls.

Other candidates who will battle it out in the by-election include Madock Chivasa of the National Constitutional Assembley NCA, former MDC-T legislator Heya Shoko who is standing as an independent,Innocent Muzvimbiri a Bikita Minerals employee who is contesting as an independent candidate and Terrence Makundo of the Elton Mangoma led Progressive democrats of Zimbabwe.
