Pick n PAY Manager Nabbed For Refusing Bond Notes
A Masvingo based South African retail giant Pick n Pay manager was yesterday nabbed by the police after after refusing to accept the controversial and much maligned bond notes which were recently foisted upon the Zimbabwean public by the Zanu Pf regime to deal with a crippling cash crisis
The manger was taken to Masvingo Central Police Station after citing that he had been informed by his workers that the notes were wearing off and also saying that he had not been given the go ahead by his superiors.
This development which was also reported in the Zimbabwe Independent has sparked more dread and panic as the public now fear that retailers and wholesalers will remove basic foodstuffs and other necessities in protest
The notes which government claims are pegged at par with the United States Dollar were brought onto the market on Monday with the release of 5 dollar notes , 2 dollar notes and 1 dollar coins respectively
The Manager was said to have been released by the police and there was no response from the Masvingo Police spokesperson in relation to the case
